University of the Cumberlands (UC) senior Landon Hamilton (Andover, OH) has been named the Mid-South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

This past weekend the Patriot had an outstanding performance that earned Mid-South Conference honors. This is the second week in a row for Hamilton to earn this honor and his first top 10 finish so far this season.

Hamilton ran the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25 minutes and 53 seconds to lead the Patriots as he finished in third place. Hamilton was the top NAIA finisher behind a pair of Wright State University harriers in the 95-man field.

The Patriot Cross Country team will take a week off before they continue their competitive season as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday October 1, 2011.
