The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team started the week by hosting Mid-South Conference (MSC) rivals, Georgetown College on Tuesday September 13th. The Patriots fought hard throughout the game but were unable to come out on top, as the Tigers swept the 3 sets 25-21, 25-13, and 25-21.

Sophomore, Kelsey Eastham (Urbana, OH) led the team with six kills, while freshman Holly Bronner (Cincinnati, OH), sophomore Cassie Kalman (Beavercreek, OH) and junior Mariah Gray (Goshen, OH) followed with five kills. Junior Chelsea Hendrix (Seymour, IN) was able to add 11 defensive digs while Brittany Weinheimer (Liberty Township, OH) and Abby Dundon (Lexington, KY) both added 13 set assists respectively.

The Patriots ended their weekend with a close rematch against Covenant College on Saturday September 17th, going 5 sets and winning. The set scores were 25-12, 15-25, 17-25, 28-26, and 15-11.

Kelsey Eastham (Urbana, OH) once again had the match of her life, helping the team with 14 kills against Covenant. Stacy Sebald (Cincinnati, OH) and Mariah Gray (Goshen, OH) were right behind her, adding 13 and 12 kills apiece. Brittany Weinheimer (Liberty Township, OH) had an impressive 39 sets, while the DS's of the team, Chelsea Hendrix (Seymour, IN) and Kelsey Dew (Clinton, TN) were able to dominate in the back row and pick up 23 digs each.

This week of volleyball was a nail biter and in the end the Patriots came out on top when they needed too. Their season record stands at 6-3, and 0-2 in the MSC. They will continue their season with three games next week. Home against Kentucky State on Monday September 19th, away on Tuesday the 20th at St. Catherine, and away at Campbellsville on Thursday the 22nd.
