The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's soccer team competed in the Bryan College Tournament this past weekend. The Patriots fell to Bethel College 3-1 but turned around and pulled together for a win against Cedarville University 1-0.

The Patriots had a strong start in the match against Bethel with Danna Stringle (Ontario, Canada) scoring early into the first half.

Bethel tied the game in the 35^th minute then continued strong in the second half with two more goals, defeating Cumberlands 3-1. Goalie Brittany Gadd (Mercer, PA) notched 11 saves as the Patriots recorded 10 shots on goal.

Cumberlands had better luck on September 10^th while playing Cedarville University for the 1-0 win.

Toni Dempsey (Australia) scored the goal that won the game in the 47^th minute. Gadd added 5 saves on goal to her tally as the 1-0 victory gave the Patriots their first win of the season.

The Patriots will hit the field again with a home match against Milligan College on September 14^th, 2011. The game is set to start at 3 p.m.
