University of the Cumberlands (UC) women's soccer battled against Mount Vernon Nazarene College this past Saturday. After a valiant effort the Patriots fell to Mount Vernon 2-5. This loss puts the season record for UC at 0-2.

The first half started out slow for the teams but in the second half UC picked up the intensity.

Brittney Gadd (Mercer, PA) made 8 saves as goalie. Forwards Ginger Johnson (London, KY) and Kim Robinson (Berea, KY) brought great effort to the field as they moved the ball up to the goal many times with 4 shots on goal.

UC will be searching for their first victory of the season on the road during the Bryan College Soccer Tournament. The Patriots will play both September 9 and 10 at 5PM against Bethel College and Cedarville University.
