The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer program continues to build upon a solid core of talent in 2011-2012 as they didn't finish the 10-11 season as well as they wanted.
Head Coach Russell Stewart and staff have brought in a lot of talent this season to hopefully improve the winning ways of the Patriots. The head coaches of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) have been polled for the 2011 Preseason Poll and the Patriots have been picked 4th in the Mid-South Conference. Last season, they were picked tied for 2nd in the preseason with Georgetown College
Lindsey Wilson College was picked 1st once again with 48 total points and six 1st-place votes. The Blue Raiders have won at least a share of the last 11 MSC Regular Season Championships. Campbellsville University was voted 2nd with 42 points and one 1st-place vote. Georgetown was voted 3rd with 36 points and the final 1st-place vote. The Patriots received 30 points being voted in 4th.
Rounding out the polls were Shawnee State (27 points), Rio Grande (16 points), St. Catharine (15 points), and Pikeville (10 points).
Head Patriot Coach Russell Stewart commented, "We are a little disappointed in where we were voted in but it is also understandable at the same time. We were very inconsistent at times last season, but we will improve on that. We are a good team this year and have a lot to prove to people."
