The University of the Cumberlands Women's Golf Team took 3^rd place in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Fall Tournament at Dale Hollow State Park in Burkesville, KY with a 2 day (36 hole) team total of 654. Campbellsville University finished 1^st scoring 646 and Lindsey Wilson College placed 2^nd with a total of 646 as well, Campbellsville won a head-to-head tiebreaking playoff to claim 1^st.

Individually for the Patriots, Emma Burman (Stockholm, Sweden) finished 3^rd overall shooting a 157 (77-80). "Emma has a wonderful short game and can really putt," said Cumberlands Head Coach Chris Kraftick. "That (her game) was on display this week; she put on a clinic around the greens." Burman also made the All-Tournament Team for this event, her first as a Patriot.

The rest of the Cumberlands team finished individually in the Top 20 of a field of 45. McKinzie Price (Somerset, KY) finished the two day event in 7^th place shooting a 161 (81-80). Laura Beth Harris (Bowling Green, KY) and teammate Taylor Gillis (Lawrenceburg, KY) tied for a 14^th place finish with a 169 while Chelsea Branscum(Somerset, KY) rounded out the Patriot Top 5 with a 173 (91-82) for a 20^th place tie.

"All and all, it was an improved performance from two weeks ago," said Kraftick. "Our youth shows at times, but the effort is great and desire to succeed is tremendous.Kinzie and Laura Beth are trying to lead the freshmen and are putting a lot of pressure on themselves. One thing is clear, we are much deeper and more talented than last year, but we are also much younger. We have to stay patient and let these kids develop." This was the second straight tournament with two sophomores and three freshmen in the Patriot lineup.
