The University of the Cumberlands (UC) golf teams has been working hard during the summer to keep their form in top notch shape going into the 2010-2011 season. Many Patriot golfers, both men and women, have hit the links numerous times over the summer and have enjoyed a large amount of success.

Laura Beth Harris (Glasgow, KY) competed in the Women's Kentucky State Am and shot a 75 in the qualifying round. She won her first two matches, making it to the round of eight players in the Championship flight. Harris also finished 34th of 66 amateurs and professionals at the Kentucky Women's Open.

Hannah Moore (London, KY) won two Southeast Kentucky Junior Golf Tour events, competing in the college division at the London Country Club and Burnside Country Club. At the Women's Kentucky State Am, Moore shot an 83 in the qualifying round putting her in the first flight, where she won her first two matches.

McKinzie Price (Somerset, KY) competed in the Women's Kentucky State Am where she shot a 79 in the qualifying round to put her in Championship Flight. Price did fall in her first match, but went on to win the Championship Flight Consolation bracket by beating Mid-South Conference Player of the Year Jessica Smith. Price also won a Southeast Kentucky Junior Golf Tour event in a playoff at Old Bridge Country Club and competed in the Kentucky Women's Open.

Chelsea Branscum (Somerset, KY) competed in the Women's Kentucky State Am where she won the consolation bracket of the 2nd flight. She also played in the Southeast Kentucky Junior Golf Tour event at the Old Bridge Country Club finishing second in a playoff with UC teammate McKinzie Price. Branscum also finished 9th out of 33 players at the Kentucky Junior Amateur shooting a 79 and a 76. She also competed in the KY Women's Open.

Taylor Gillis (Lawrenceburg, KY) participated in the Women's KY State Am, the Kentucky Junior Amateur, the Kentucky Women's Open, and the Southeast Kentucky Junior Golf Tournaments at Campbellsville Country Club and Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Emma Burman (Sweden) has played in multiple Skandia tour events and club team match play events throughout the summer.

On the men's side, Aaron Watkins (Harlan, KY) made the cut at the Men's Kentucky State Am shooting a 71, 77, and 76. At the Pineville Invitational, he finished 2nd after shooting a 73 and a 69. Watkins also competed in the Harlan Invitational finishing 3rd after shooting a 65 and a 69. He has also competed in the Cutter and Buck Invitational at Maywood Country Club shooting a 72 and finishing 8th. Finally, he finished 2nd of 102 in the Kentucky Open Qualifier at Cherry Blossom Golf Club with score of 67.

Eric Hodgson (Canton, GA) competed at the Collegiate Players Tour in Montgomery, Alabama as he shot an 80, a 75, and a 70 finishing 6th out of 40. He also qualified for the year end championship in Dallas, TX in August. He is planning on playing in the Collegiate Players Tour events in Cleveland, Tennessee and Suwannee, Georgia.

Eli Towery (Mayfield, KY) has competed in the Ballard Country Club Invitational finishing 3rd as he shot a 71 and a 69. He also made the cut at the Men's Kentucky State Am shooting a 78 and a 77. Eli competed at the Mayfield West Kentucky Amateur placing 4th after shooting a 71 and a 70. Towery's summer got better after winning the Pepsi Gatorade Masters Division at Paxton Park after shooting a 70. He placed 3rd at the Mark Mullen Jr. Invitational at Paxton Park shooting a 73 and 11th at the Junior State Am shooting back-to-back 74s.

Fredrik Lindblom (Sweden) has finished three times in the top four on the Skandia Tour. He has also competed in the Swedish Junior Match Play Championships and is currently competing as an amateur on the Nordic Tour in the Gant Open in Finland. Lindblom also won the Club Championship with a two round total of 8 under par.

Wil Jarnagin (Bean Station, TN) has had a great summer finishing 4th in the Clinchview Invitational, winning the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Tournament, and winning the Clinchview Spring Fling. He also qualified for the Tennessee State Amateur 4-Ball and is scheduled to participate in the Tennessee State Amateur qualifying tournament.
