The University of the Cumberlands Women's Golf Team had one of its most successful years this past season. Two individuals were invited to the NAIA National Championships as the team finished with a final ranking of #18 in the NAIA final poll. This team lost only one senior from last year's team and is on its way to reloading and becoming a big threat in the NAIA for 2010-2011. One piece to the reloading process has now inked with the Patriots as Emma Burman has signed to play golf for the Patriot ladies next season.

Emma hails from Stockholm, Sweden and is coming off of an impressive year as a senior. During her last season in high school as well as the summer, Burman has accumulated three victories on the Skandia Tour with two 3rd place finishes and five 4th place finishes. She also won both the Junior and Women's Club Championships this past year. Burman was a member of the prestigious Stockholm Landscape Team from age 13 to 18.

When asked about coming to UC, Emma said, "I'm excited about coming to UC this year. It's going to be a good experience for me and I'm looking forward to playing on the golf team."

Head Coach Chris Kraftick commented, "Emma is the final piece of this recruiting class. She is a very talented and experienced player and has played really well this summer. This signing really gives this team a chance to do some special things this season."
