The University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College) men and women’s golf teams kicked off their spring season at the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational on March 13-14.
With his second career tournament win, Senior Eric King (Ferguson, KY) finished first with a score of 73-72-145. King helped the Cumberlands finish fourth in the tournament. Also placing in top 20 was Senior Willis Ring (Whitesburg, KY) tied for 10th with a score of 81-76-157, Sophomore Justin Price (Somerset, KY) tied for 13th with a score of 80-80-160, Freshman Eric Fuldner (Alexandria, KY) tied with teammate Freshman Eric Seay (Knoxville, TN) placing 16th.
Although the ladies did not finish the tournament as a team, Junior Jennifer Kieffer (Rockford, IL) had a 9th place finish individually with a score of 86-87-173.
The men travel to Rome, GA to compete in the Berry College Tournament on March 20-21, 2006, while the women host the University of the Cumberlands Invitational on March 27-28.
