The University of the Cumberlands Women’s Golf team participated in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on April 27-28th. The two-day event ended with the University of the Cumberlands finishing with a total score of 704, earning them a fourth place finish over all.

Lindsey Wilson College took the tournament title with a total score of 633 while Campbellsville University took second with a score of 678. Georgetown College came in third with a score of 680.

The Patriots top finishers for the tournament were Kayla Peace (Williamsburg, KY) who shot a 158 and finished 3rd overall. Alli Burton (Corbin, KY) had a score of 158 and finished tied for 18th while Brittany Napier (Manchester, KY) shot a 186 and finished 21st overall. Katie Akins (London, KY) and Hannah Moore (London, KY) both shot a 190 and finished tied 22nd.

“I am really proud of how this team has developed,” said Head Patriot Golf Coach Chris Kraftick. “They have handled the weather well and have grown up so much this year. Kayla had a great event in her final appearance for our school, ending with a season best 75 on Tuesday. Overall we are very excited about the future of this program."
