The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the student-athletes who have been named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Golf Scholar-Athletes. University of the Cumberlands senior Emily Sturgill (Pineville, KY) earned a spot on the honored list.

Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

Sturgill studied in the field of psychology and was very active on Cumberlands campus in numerous extra-curricular activities. Having just completed her senior year on the green, look for Sturgill to continue to tee off in life.
