The University of the Cumberlands Archery program is already a hot topic throughout the area, region, and country as Head Coach Kris Strebeck has assembled a team filled with top talent from across the region.  Strebeck and the Patriots are happy to add another top tier athlete to that roster as Hunter Cantley has signed to become an archer for the Patriots next year.

Hunter is the son of Neal and Amy Cantley and hails from Henderson, KY.  He is a recent graduate from Henderson County High School.  Cantley has his fair share of experience at shooting at a high level as he is a three time National Championship team member in the NASP, has earned numerous archery medals, has been in the top 10 in the nation individually and the top 20 in the world.

When asked about joining the team at UC, Cantley said, "I started shooting competitive archery 7 years ago and it has become my passion.  My senior year in high school was great but one thing stuck with me the most knowing that my archery career was coming to an end until I found out about UC having a first year collegiate archery team.  When this came to mind I thought there is no better way to further my education and continue my archery career in college athletics!"

Coach Strebeck commented, "Hunter is coming from a successful archery program that has won numerous regional, state, and national titles.  He will be a tremendous asset to our program and we are excited that he has chosen UC for his college career."
