The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf program just ended their 2011-2012 season with a trip to the 2012 NAIA National Championships. Head Coach Chris Kraftick and staff now have their sights set on another trip to the NAIA Championships and to repeat as Mid-South Conference Champions. Kraftick has done a good share of recruiting already this season and has been successful and is pleased to announce the signing of Bri-anne Tokariwski.
Bri-anne hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She will transfer to UC having previously attended the University of Manitoba and Thomas University in Georgia. Thus far in her career, Tokariwski was the captain of her high school team that won three Provincial Championships while she won two Provincial Individual Championships. She also won the 2008 Manitoba Junior Championship and was named the MVP of the University of Manitoba's Women's Golf team as a freshman.
When asked about coming to UC, Bri-anne said, "I am super excited to be able to be part of a team that is so heartfelt and enthusiastic about golf. The ladies have done such a phenomenal job this past year and I am honored to be able to join the team. Coach Kraftick runs an amazing program and has such love for the team and the sport that it becomes contagious. I am honored to have the privilege to play alongside the girls and coach."
Coach Kraftick commented, "We are really excited about Bri-anne joining us here at UC. She has a very good game and wonderful competitive experience. She fit in well with both the girls and how we run our program when she visited and I expect she will make an impact right away."
